Book Blurb: Jane Valiante had put so much of her life on hold to care for her father and little brother back in Florida since her mom died, that she’d all but forgotten she once had ambitions of her own. She had nearly resigned to a life of ordinary when the hottest tech company in the world offers to fly her to New York for the job of her dreams.

After what shapes up to be a whirlwind of an interview, Jane starts to feel overwhelmed and insecure about her chances. Feeling defeated, she’s surprised to receive an invitation to the holiday party from the CEO and founder, Peter Wright, planned for that evening. Hoping this could be her opportunity to seal the deal, she happily accepts. That’s when everything in her world turns upside down as she finds herself back in her hotel room with Peter after the party. What started as a drunken misunderstanding leads to a brutal sexual assault that leaves Jane shattered.

Torn by the violence of what happened that night and the shocking choices she inevitably makes, Jane embarks on a precedent-setting journey to right the wrongs she has endured that could ultimately define the fate of a generation.

Review:
Maverick is such a beautiful and powerful story story. I had seen this book around bookstagram and it sounded super interesting. When Love Book Tours came with an opportunity to review this book, I replied instantly and I am so glad I did!

Firstly, I think it was very brave of the write to write a novel on something so personal to her and for capturing such important issues in the wonderful book.

Even though the world is experience a change and women have equal rights and can achieve anything they wish to, some of the society hasn't changed their mindset yet. They doubt our power and talents. And even though we don't want to, we sometimes end up doubting ourselves. 'Am I really good at this?' 'Do I deserve this?'

From the start, The Maverick focuses on how women are downplayed by society. 'All genders are treated equally' are just words and anyone who has a mind of their own can definitely confirm that.

This book focuses on issues that everyone should hear about. It has a lasagna of emotions and you can't just put it down. I finished it in 3 hours.

The characters are so well defined and lovable. And I love the writing style of author. I'd reccomend to this book to literally everyone. Go get it and read it, it's amazing!
